We don’t live in the Bay of Plenty because we take life too seriously, we live here for the fun of it. There’s nothing like letting your hair down with good mates and good music for good times, and Papamoa’s The Island brings all that and more.
Unlike other treasure islands, you don’t need a map to find this one, just by the entrance to Papamoa Plaza. The bar is the home of Easy Lager, which you can watch being brewed through the glass walls along with craft friends Pony Club Pilsner and Puha Road IPA, whose names take inspiration from local institutions.
The Island is a place in which to have a darn good night out. Like the lager, everything’s easy here. There are plenty of bar snacks to soak up the beer, and bands, musicians and DJs often play. In winter, the fire’s cranking and you’ll find all sorts of snug spots in which to sit, like the old truck with the side cut out decorated with sofas, art and a golden skull. Basically, the Papamoa party starts right here.
