Designer Angela Gray of Design One has always been obsessed with interior design, so it’s no surprise that her lifetime love turned into a business. Having long been involved with the building industry in the Bay and immersed in all things design (including earning a diploma in interior design), she’s built up quite the little black book of suppliers, and even built her own home along the way.

“Interior designers are changing,” says Angela. “We’re not just the preserve
of the wealthy – I create packages that are affordable for everyone. It just needs a slightly different approach, and that’s what I love doing for my clients. I’ve done some really varied projects in the Bay of Plenty: Baycourt theatre, Certified Builders’ head office, big commercial projects, and intimate and high-end residential homes. My designs have a real sustainability slant, and think creatively to reuse and recycle many of the fantastic materials that are out there.”

Here are a few of the great businesses Angela has worked with on some of her favourite projects.
