UNO Magazine Pip Grundy
What inspired your winning colour and style?
I love androgynous images and have always wanted to create my own version of images with added colour!
What are the key colour trends this season?
Definitely ombre/balayge is still the top trend
What advice do you give people who colour their hair at home?
Don’t do it
What do you think makes a great colourist?
Experience
What advice would you give someone looking to go into hairdressing?
Trades aren’t easy – they’re physical labour, long hours and not well paid. But, like most things, it’s what you put into it that determines what you get out of it. And after fifteen years, hairdressing has taken me to work with some of New Zealand’s top hairdressers backstage on hair shows, New Zealand Fashion Week and photoshoots, on small film sets and in amazing locations for weddings. I’ve organised regional and national events and live competitions, and been a committee member for the New Zealand Association of Registered Hairdressers. I’ve been an assessor and mentored apprentices. And, most of all, I’ve built wonderful friendships with clients and other stylists. Not a bad career so far 😉
Where do you work? What do we need to do to book in with New Zealand’s top colourist?
You can find the most awesome team of stylists at Zibido Hair in Glenview – book online or give us a call!
