This year’s ONE LOVE FESTIVAL promises to be the biggest so far. The Bay is becoming the most popular place in the country to have a good time — Bay Dreams is already sold out! Don’t miss out, get online and scoop up some tickets. We catch up with One Love headliners, Six60, back from LA, ready to give your ears A GOOD TIME.

YOU HAVE WILDLY DIFFERENT MUSICAL BACKGROUNDSPUNK, HEAVY METAL, CLASSICAL. HAS THAT AFFORDED YOU THE OPPORTUNITY TO PLAY AT DIFFERENT TYPES OF FESTIVALS?

It has. We believe in being ourselves, therefore we don’t shy away from sprinkling everyone’s influences into the music.

WHAT’S BEEN THE BIGGEST GIG YOUVE PLAYED IN YOUR CAREER SO FAR?

Our own show at Villa Maria was very special for us. Both numbers and importance; it had it all.

WHAT PROMPTED YOUR MOVE TO LA? WHAT’S IT LIKE OUT THERE? IT SEEMSLONG WAY FROM DUNEDIN

Our management and record label both reside in LA. It’s important to be there with them as we are breaking into USA market. Things can get lost in translation, through email and so on, when you’re in different countries. It’s sunny every day LA and access to everything you see on American TV is right there. But we miss NZ a lot and we try get back as much as we can.

WHO ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING AT ONE LOVE? ARE YOU MATES WITH ANY OF THE OTHER BANDS PLAYING?

Looking forward to everyone to be honest. It’s a celebration of music unique to New Zealand roots/reggae and we can’t to experience it. Being a part of it is a bonus. We are happy to be there.

HAVE YOU GUYS BEEN TO TAURANGA BEFORE? WE ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING YOU!

Yes, we have done a few of our own shows in The Mount. Always a good time. We can’t wait to be there in this capacity of One Love
